Does the chapter haze?

NO! The Georgia Beta chapter of Phi Kappa Psi Has both a strict no-hazing policy and a culture that is focused around building our members up - not tearing them down. It’s important to realize that while some chapters around the country have a reputation for hazing, they aren’t representative of all chapters - especially ours. There are around 5,500 different fraternity chapters and 101 Phi Psi chapters and everyone is different. The actions of one chapter are not reflective of the cultures and beliefs of other chapters. Brothers of the Georgia Beta chapter of Phi Kappa Psi hold themselves to high moral, academic, and ethical standards.

Will joining Phi Psi impact my child’s grades?

Yes! The GPA of the average Greek life member is higher than the average Georgia Tech student. The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi Georgia Beta have created an academic plan that insures our members are keeping up with their studies. In the Spring 2020 semester, the chapter had an average GPA of 3.7 with roughly a third of brothers maintaining a 4.0. In the Fall 2021 semester, we won an award for the highest new member GPA among all IFC fraternities.

What are the benefits of joining?

Joining a fraternity has both personal and practical benefits. Many brothers attribute their personal growth throughout college to the fraternity teaching them to be more responsible, social, and driven. Several brothers have also gotten leadership opportunities, skill sets, and even internships from our supportive alumni base. Our small, close-knit chapter allows for newcomers to get out of their shells.

How much does the fraternity cost?

Dues are around $700 for the first semester and $950 for following semesters making our dues one of the lowest on campus. However, if meeting these prices is still difficult, the chapter has set up various means of financial assistance. We strongly believe that the cost of dues should never be the reason you don’t join. We will work with New Members, Brothers, Parents, and Alumni to find the funds needed to help cover your student.

Why should my child join Phi Kappa Psi?

College is a time in which a lot of people grow and change. By joining Phi Kappa Psi, students are granted the opportunity to have that growth directed in a positive direction. Countless brothers credit the fraternity for providing them a chance to grow socially, emotionally, and professionally in a way they otherwise wouldn't have.
